On the left and gesturing is George Cotterill historically one of Seattle’s most effective citizens – as engineer, mayor, state senator, author, and Port of Seattle Commissioner. He lived long. As a young engineer-surveyor he help plot the route for the Seattle Lake Shore and Eastern Railway along the north shore of Lake Union in 1886-87. Here he is fit and performing for the camera and those with him 65 years later.
