Ivar “Keep Clam” Haglund’s aunt and uncle, Rena and Al Smith, once owned a good part of Alki Point – as did Ivar – inherited from Ivar’s grandparents who settled on the point in 1868 after purchacing it from pioneer Doc’ David Maynard. (That story will soon be told in “Keep Clam.”) The Smiths built this bath house to service their Alki Point restaurant, the Stockade.
