THEN: The Arabian Theatre opened in 1925 with the Daniel Bagley Primary School two blocks north (the towers are showing, left of center) and its thruway, Aurora Ave., preparing for four decades of service to the Pacific Coast Highway. With its exotic tower and stain glass the theatre was designed to lure motorists and shoppers on this almost endless strip of small businesses. (Courtesy Museum of History and Industry)
