The Palouse pantry is perhaps the widest nook in the Sykes kitchen. Many of them are a much sky as rolling hills with fruitfull fields. And many, like this scene it seems to me, are so picturesque that we may wonder how such a scene was allowed to sllip off the canvas onto the landscape itself for this photograph. And what is the cloud shadow draped across its center but a dark nylon thrown there by whom or what? But again we do not know where as yet.
