HUGH PARADISE’s sort-of-familiar Seattle skyline recorded from Latona (Wallingford) in 1960. At the very bottom is Lawton Gowey’s portrait of the then new modern Seattle Public Library on the same block where the new post-modern library unfolds. In between in Anderson’s 1960 feature on a by-gone Seattle stimulated in him in part by a faded sign on the Palace Hip, which was then still working as a garage and still had two decades to go as such.
