Not perfect, but close and found. Horace Syke’s position was crudely put about half way through the canyon. In a straight line from high above – with an elevated crow – the distance to both ends of the canyon is about 7&1/2 miles. When you are traveling south and come to a farm where the canyon wall, on the east or highway side, dips for a much smaller joining canyon you are almost there. There’s a fine place for Horace or you Jean to pull out.
