Another inspection of the neighborhood from Denny Hill, a year to two earlier, ca. 1885. The campus greenbelt shows and Pike Street makes it confident way across the way. The first Lutheran Church in Seattle, the Swedes, are far right at the northeast corner of 3rd and Pike. Providence Hospital and Central School also appear, although the cental spire for the hospital has as yet not been raised. (Courtesy, University of Washington Libraries, Special Collections)
