Mrs. Jacobina Johnson, in the gala costume of her native Iceland, will relate the story of the Icelandic sagas, which tell of the visit to New England shores almost a thousand year ago by Leif Erikson and his Viking crew, speaking on a program at 8:15 o’clock tomorrow evening when Seattle Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Icelandic people gather in the Masonic Temple to celebrate Leif Erikson Day. Swedish and Norwegian male choruses will sing, and Danish children will present folk dances. The copy of “Icelandic Illuminated Manuscripts of the Middle Ages” shown here in Mrs. Johnson’s hands is one of two copies of this book in the United States – the other belongs to President Roosevelt.
