The caption for this view was written long before the Lake Washington Ship Canal’s Chittenden locks made a concrete separation of Shilshole Bay from Salmon Bay. I think this most likely a few looking south towards Magnolia across what we now call Shilshole Bay. The entrance to the locks and old Salmon Bay is around to the left.
