Our Daily Sykes #3b – the Palouse, perhaps.

The barn of this ruined farm seems to have held up so well that we might imagine restoring the grand old home – except that this is another unidentified Sykes view from the 1940s.  But where?  Such architecture in such a setting must be remembered by someone.   [To enlarge click and then click again, if you like.]

In the Palouse, the Okanagon, the green fields of Idaho, wheat fields of Oregon? Sykes kept it a secret.

  1. Its always sad to see something like that, and i dont understand how that could happen. I mean, you can keep a house in an “ok” condition just by looking after the roof so no water leaks in. But atleast they didnt demolish it so they could work better on the field :/ This often happens here in germany…

  2. Thanks to both Horton and to Fablo. Horton, this rather large collection of slides was given to me about a quarter-century ago by the window of a friend. The photographer had an appetite for the picturesque. If you wish to copy and us this or any of the Skype art you can convince me of your “poverty.” Otherwise I’d charge you a fee for the treasury of this aging dependent.
    Turned 80 last year.
