Blogaddendum – More Sykes Pictographs on Request

We received a request from Brian who helped us identify Horace Sykes pictographs.  Brian wants more and here are a few, although there may well me more in corners of the Sykes collection I have not yet searched, and those are quite a few corners.   I will number these in case Brian or anyone recognizes their location. 1. It took me a while to respond!

    (1) I think is along the Columbia River, I’ve seen photos of it.

    (2, 3, 5) Buckhorn Wash closeups — it’s a huge gallery site.

    (4) This is on a rock below the Moab panel, but some of the figures have been pecked away since your photo. Compare to my wife’s photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/amybroox/2152041025/

  2. I’m part of a project that is working on a photographic inventory of the Barrier Canyon style…e.g., Buckhorn Wash (2,3,5) and the Courthouse Wash Panel (4).

The images that you are showing here would be valuable to our project…all of them showing panels before overpecking and overchalking.

Is it possible to be able to see your collection of images and, if useful, obtain copies for our archives.

We, the BCS PROJECT, are a non-profit organization…please check out our website.

    Thanks, David Sucec, Director
