Description

Paul Dorpat spent a lifetime helping Seattle see itself.

At 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, friends, family and readers will gather at the Museum of History & Industry, 860 Terry Ave. N., to celebrate him.

It’s free and open to all — no ticket, no reservation, nothing required. Come as you are.

Staging the evening does cost something. Chair rental and audio-visual gear at MOHAI will run about $4,000 — that’s what will put Paul’s photographs on a big screen and his voice in the room, at a scale he would have enjoyed. If you’d like to help defray that, this page is how.

There’s no expectation attached. Give if it suits you, don’t if it doesn’t. Either way, we hope to see you on the 30th.

Gift amounts from $10 to $500 are in the linked menu.

Two housekeeping notes:

Gifts are not tax-deductible — this is a fund we’re handling ourselves to pay the vendors, not a charitable donation to MOHAI.

And it’s a gift, not a purchase: nothing will be shipped and no sales tax is collected.

Anything beyond the bills will keep pauldorpat.com online, where Paul’s huge body of work continues to live.
