It’s the Great Salt Lake. That would be the salt that crusts around the stagnant water. I live close to there and work in the desert by the Great Salt Lake.

Thanks much for confirming our hunch. Lynette if you are new to this blog you will find in its archives by now 176 other Daily Sykes and many of them are unidentified. Perhaps you could take a look and see if any more are familiar to you. Some I have figured out from memories of my childhood trips with the family, others from Google Earth explorations, but most (I have not counted them) remain mysteries.
