  1. We don’t usually see Horace up so early in the morning, do we? This is a beauty, makes me think HS should have foregone the flapjacks and coffee more often.

Horace thanks you – I imagine – for your morning call. I, however, await instruction on how you can figure that this is in the morning. I am easily convinced so please share your intuitions and evidences.

  3. If it’s evening, then this is shot looking west or southwest, and I just don’t believe the sky in that quarter would be such a clear blue after a day of vapors, pollens, chaff and the lamentations of the oppressed floating up into it. On the other hand, if it’s morning, this is shot east or northeast, and in my experience that area of the sky would be very blue. Course, that’s assuming late summer, early autumn — an assumption that I am making based on the flimsy evidence of the color of the foliage. This could be late afternoon in early spring or late fall, and even if it’s morning, it could be very late morning (almost noon) if it is early or late in the year. So I have no admissible evidence, only inadmissible intuitions. It just feels like 8:27 a.m. on September 12th.
