Here are resting bovines

behaving predictably,

stock acting stock

in the shade

while around them

a field of blue flowers

acting like please forget-me-nots

cares little for so much sun

and yet cannot peaceably

join the cattle

in the pasture they share

beneath the covered

bumbershoot  of a tree.
